Achada São Felipe

This was my first week in Praia and it was eventful, or at least interesting. Me and Elder Champion, who is actually Korean but was adopted to America, replaced the sisters who were in Achada São Felipe. The area is on the outscurts of Praia and is close to the mountainous areas of Santiago. The first few days were rough trying to find the sisters investigators. The day we arrived they were having a festival right in our area so it was hard to get work done. But now things are good and we have three dates for baptismed marked for the 19th. The members here are great, especially our Bishop. We already had a family night on Sunday with this family we are reactivating. They gave us herbal tea and these fried banana bread things that were delicious. Praia is a lot diferent in the language, people, city, and weather. I hope that it does not get too hot in the summer. I need some time to get used to the Kriolo here, and I think that the African influence is a lot stronger. My companion is a great guy, and I know that we will do good work here. Fique Kúl.
